At Conley Law, we strike to make filing bankruptcy in Ohio a quick and easy experience and to minimize your stress. Below is a typical experience our clients go through.
- Schedule a free consultation with an Ohio bankruptcy attorney. This can be done over the phone, in office, or over Zoom.
- Fill out a consultation questionnaire so the bankruptcy attorney can review your situation and determine if bankruptcy is a good option and what chapter is appropriate.
- Complete the consultation. The bankruptcy lawyer may have additional questions for you. The bankruptcy attorney will explain the process, what chapter you should file, any specific details that affect your situation, and go over the pricing and payment options with you. The bankruptcy attorney will also answer your questions.
- Schedule a payment plan to pay for the bankruptcy or pay in full.
- Provide the required documents and information so your bankruptcy lawyer can prepare your documents. The documents can be uploaded into the portal Conley Law will provide you with access to. There will be some additional questionnaires to fill out. The portal has a section for messages if you have any questions. Typically, Conley Law will be able to prepare the filing documents within a business day of receiving all documents and being paid in full.
- Schedule a signing appointment. You will meet with the Ohio bankruptcy attorney to go over the documents and ensure they are correct for filing. You can either meet in office or over Zoom. If you meet over Zoom, you will print off the documents to sign in the appointment and then get the signature pages back to Conley Law so the case can be filed.
After the case is filed, the process will vary slightly based on which chapter is filed. We go over those processes on those specific pages. In general, there will be a meeting with the trustee that will take place over Zoom. You will need to provide additional documentation, including bank statements that show the date you filed.
